SuperDuperSecret made the headlines by successfully landing handsome funding of over $1 million to bring traditional games like chess to life with a contemporary ten-player battle royale. It is always fascinating to see creative concepts being supported and funded to ensure quick development.

The gaming business is one that is expanding quickly, and new and creative ideas are being developed. In recent years, multiplayer games featuring a battle royale structure have shown huge demand. SuperDuperSecret has the opportunity to capture a huge portion by offering a distinctive and captivating gameplay experience.

Investors in the pre-seed fundraising round include Round 13 Digital Asset Fund, Merit Circle, Polygon, Solana, Overwolf, Big Brain Holdings, and LD Capital. Moreover, angel investors include Sebastien Borget, Gabby Dizon, Cristian Manea, and many others playing their part.

Jazzlyn O’Reilly Formed the Company in Early 2022

Jazzlyn O’Reilly, co-founder, and CEO, becomes the first Latina founder to secure $1 million in venture capital funding in the gaming sector. The first of several games to be released on the company’s meta-game platform is Royale Chess, a multiplayer, everlasting chess game for 10 players. O’Reilly is new to the industry; however, he possesses expertise in product and UI design.

“It’s astonishing that the number of funded female and minority founders in the gaming space is still so small in 2023, especially considering how diverse the consumers of games are; 48% percent of gamers identify as female, for example,” she said. “I can only hope that news like this can help encourage others who don’t as often see people like themselves represented in this space, to take the leap and build companies of their own, and not to be afraid to pursue funding to achieve their vision. It’s not just a matter of numbers; the industry needs diverse founders in order to create truly innovative content for the world’s 3 billion gamers.”

“We really wanted to focus on making this approachable for everybody,” O’Reilly added. “It’s not meant to be for experts.”

SuperDuperSecret’s Stance on Web3 Gaming

SuperDuperSecret is working on a Chess Battle Royale game. It is purely a blockchain gaming firm, after all. It shouldn’t be mistaken for another web3 project, according to O’Reilly. SuperDuperSecret is primarily a gaming company, so they tend to minimize the Web3 side and avoid associating the web3 games company title with their name.

O’Reilly emphasized:

We have felt for a long time that there has been too much focus on ‘web3’ being web3 and not on UX and what value it adds. Additive features as opposed to being defined as ‘can include? Like changing the story.

All of our games will support a parallel economy, allowing you to hold assets from our games (and, if you choose, trade them via blockchain), interact with Web3 features, and use any in-app purchases. Unless the player chooses to participate in the flow, this Web3 element is almost invisible to them; otherwise, all games will function as usual with a seamless user experience.

The business provides a secret custodial wallet for new players and saves all the assets they have gathered throughout their journey with the game. If they want, they can subsequently claim ownership using the blockchain or never interact with TouchWeb3.

In Royal Chess, IAP/NFT does not always change the fundamental laws of gameplay, but they do provide gamers the option to customize their gaming experience.

In the past few years, the chess game has experienced an unprecedented rise in popularity, claiming over 600 million players currently active.

Chess is viewed every year for more than 65 million hours worldwide, including on streaming services like Twitch. The popular Netflix series Queen’s GambiTea became the most-watched scripted series in the first month of its release. The story is about a fictional chess prodigy named Beth Harmon.

Royal Chess Gameplay

One of the oldest games in human history gets a modern update with Royale Chess. You will compete simultaneously against nine other players in Royal Chess. Ten players can compete in a quick match against each other, moving in time with the other nine players. The business wants to reshape the game as simple as it is thrilling. It also includes an AI assist feature that enables players to swiftly execute a move with a single button click.

Each match has a ticking clock. You proceed to the next board after walking on the previous one. It will make an unpredictable move for you if you don’t make your move on time.

Royal Chess will Launch a Desktop Version

Prior to being released on mobile and consoles, Royale Chess will be the first desktop game on both PC and Mac. It will probably release a desktop version later this year.

The team hopes to provide positive playspaces for countless gamers worldwide through Royale Chess and the company’s upcoming projects, which are targeted toward a casual audience.

For its avatars, the company has collaborated with Ready Player Me. This means that in Chess Royale, players can utilize the avatars they created earlier in Ready Player Me games.
