How Solana Aims to Dominate the Crypto Gaming Industry? The PlayGG Event

Solana is Taking the Lead by Addressing Issues

Solana Foundation Shared Its Strategy at PlayGG Event

“The reception and the excitement from both the attendees and our developer community have been amazing,” Solana Games General Manager Johnny Lee told Decrypt at the event, which spotlighted a variety of games building on Solana.

The Solana Foundation, according to Lee, believed the free two-day event would encourage journalists, local families, and capitalists to explore blockchain gaming in a way that didn’t emphasize cryptocurrencies or NFTs. Professional gamers from the G2 Esports squad participated in the tournament, which featured titles including Alchemy: Battle for Ankhos, Aurory, and Star Atlas.

Although we are technically a Web3-related event, Lee noted, “We don’t think of this as a Web3 event.” PlayGG is what we call it: play good games. Many creators are avoiding the term “NFT” in favor of the more polite term “digital collectibles,” realizing that it is frequently used negatively by gamers. Unlike previous blockchain games (like play-to-earn games), several of the games showcased at PlayGG did not promote NFTs or token payouts.

Many of the games may be played without paying anything or using cryptocurrency. According to Lee, the ultimate goal for games backed by the Solana Games project is for them to not only outperform existing blockchain games but also stand against more conventional (or “Web2”) games.

They have consistently believed in the idea that Web3 games must compete with all games, not just those that incorporate blockchain technology. Johnny Lee believed it was critical to demonstrate top-notch games as quickly as possible, demonstrating how we use blockchain technology to offer distinctive and superior player experiences.

‘Solana is Only Network Ready for Gaming’

Lee stated that game creators must first deliver a version of the game and let his staff test it to ensure that Solana Gaming only sponsors titles that show potential. The PlayGG event featured more than 50 of these types of games.

“We demanded a play test whenever game creators approached us for even a minimal amount of commercial sponsorship. We officially revealed it to the sector.

The low quality and expensive cost of access were two of the key criticisms that many gamers had with early “metaverse” and blockchain games. According to Lee, Solana Games is prepared to invest the money and time necessary to make sure that only the best titles are made available on the Solana network. To effectively create the long-term value of the gaming environment, they were willing to suffer a short-term business setback.

Firedancer Validator Client

Although Lee is confident about the future of gaming on Solana, he admitted that there had been problems with the blockchain in the past. However, he asserted that the network is stronger than ever and that games and transactions would go without any issues. He also emphasized the positive outlook for the impending Firedancer validator client, which might further aid in network stabilization.

Although “Firedancer” has a nice name, its work is much cooler. With its performance enhancements, its testnet has exceeded our expectations. Even though many of the games at Solana PlayGG are still in production, Lee is certain that when they are ready for general distribution, they will compete well with games of a similar genre from the traditional gaming business.

“We can confidently say now that the far majority of our games have the potential to compete with other mainstream games in similar genres,” Lee said. “We’re very excited for this next stage of Web3 games.”
