Avalanche Subnet Will Host the Launch of Web3 Battle Royale Game by Gunzilla Games
The release of a new game can amaze gamers greatly, especially if it is long-awaited or is part of a well-known franchise. If you are someone who loves to play battle royale games and is interested in stepping into the world of blockchain and digital ownership games, then Off the Grid is coming your way with stellar gameplay. Off the Grid is a brand-new Web3 game concept from independent triple-A developer Gunzilla Games.
Off The Grid, a game that promotes narratives and digital ownership and gives players the chance to influence both gameplay and narrative through their in-game choices intends to transform the battle royale genre. In addition to that, Off The Grid also stands out from other games thanks to a special feature: it features the blockchain-based digital economy ecosystem GUNZ, which was entirely constructed on an Avalanche Subnet.
Today, video game developer Gunzilla Games, which features renowned director Neill Blomkamp among its leadership, revealed that their upcoming game, Off the Grid, will have its own special Internet subnet dubbed GUNZ (OTG).
According to the game’s website, Blomkamp, the studio’s chief visionary officer and the director of the movies “District 9,” “Chappie,” and “Elysium,” designed the world of OTG “from scratch.” Richard K. Morgan, a novelist and screenwriter best known for his work on “Altered Carbon,” is also collaborating with Olivier Henriot to create the story for OTG. Henriot has worked on popular game series like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry. We can sense buzz and expectations around Off the Grid after the developer announced today that it will launch a dedicated Avalanche subnet for the game.
Gunzilla Games will Launch the Web3 Game Anytime Soon
Off the Grid is expected to release in 2023, and Blomkamp is also in charge of a cinematic seven-episode narrative that draws inspiration from the game’s setting. The game’s scene has been reported to be the fictional Teardrop Island in the Pacific Ocean, where three greedy corporations fight for resources employing high-tech soldiers with robotic body parts, sci-fi shields, and a lot of weapons.
Video game developer Gunzilla claims that the marvelous gameplay appears to be a top priority for them. It will also give users the option of signing up for a monthly combat pass that grants them access to the GUNZ marketplace on the Avalanche subnet. A subnet is an unique instance of the Avalanche blockchain that provides developers with more configuration possibilities and is isolated from the larger network.
Gunzilla co-founder Vlad Korolev says: “The game can be enjoyed by both traditional gamers and Web3 gamers. However, it’s not a Web3 game in itself — it is a traditional AAA multiplayer shooter that, unlike Web3 games, will be released on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.”
He continued his remarks by adding: As a free-to-play game, we aim to compete with market leaders such as Fortnite, PUBG, Call of Duty: Warzone, and Apex Legends, but with an additional component that gives players greater transparency, security, and ownership over their in-game assets.”
Gunzilla isn’t attempting to mask Off the Grid’s Web3 layer, similar to the creators of the NFT-enhanced shootings Shrapnel and Deadrop. Gunzilla, however, is also not attempting to compel NFTs from players or turn the game into a “pay-to-win” one. In light of the fact that some gamers may still be cautious about NFTs, Korolev’s remarks imply that he is fully aware of these concerns.
About Gunz and Its Contribution
GUNZ is a state-of-the-art platform for Web3 and traditional players that enables smooth gameplay, only uses in-game tokens for gas (transaction fees), and offers a satisfying user experience
GUNZ provides users the chance to participate in play-to-own mechanics by providing transparent data that can be independently verified. This implies that users can fully own the in-game products they purchase using non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which are distinctive digital assets that can be bought, sold, or acquired on the blockchain.
Gunzilla Games created GUNZ to give game developers who are establishing their blockchain-based economy access to a number of market-standard features, with the goal of transforming the gaming industry.
Avalanche Subnet
With less impact on the environment, Avalanche is a highly scalable and reliable blockchain platform that hosts more than 500 apps and maintains billions of dollars in worth.
Moreover, Avalanche enables subnets like GUNZ, which are unique, app-specific blockchains that enable practically unlimited network scalability. As a result, GUNZ is able to provide its players with a smooth, low-latency gaming performance without compromising safety or speed.
Ava Labs, the primary creator of Avalanche, and Gunzilla Games joined forces to use its blockchain technology and knowledge.
Ed Chang, the head of gaming at Ava Labs, responded when asked why game developers like Gunzilla picked to build on Avalanche. Chang answered “It’s due to the support offered.
With less impact on the environment, Avalanche is an easily adaptable and secure blockchain system that hosts more than 500 apps and maintains billions of dollars in worth.
